I'm spending the summer in Lagos Portugal. It's about 14:00 and I am just relaxing looking at the mouth of the Mediterranean Sea waiting for the US Stock market to open at 9:30 EST. Yesterday a Russia destroyer cruised by heading for their port in Syria. The Med is a NATO lake not sure why Russia would commit naval assets I guess they have no choice now that the Baltic is also a NATO lake.
I do have a nice short position in DJT stock that is up 27% now. By Nov 5th it will be much lower and after Nov 5th it will be close to zero.
Portugal is a wonderful European country, fly into Lisbon and go north to Porto or south to the Algarve where I am. The weather is magnificent, the people are warm and friendly, the food is fantastic. Portugal is rather inexpensive for Europe. In the off season it's a real bargain. They do use the Euro but everything is cheaper then France, Italy, and especially Switzerland. From the US it's a short 7hr flight from Newark.
For those of you who bitch about gas prices They sell it by the Liter it's about $1.85per liter. A little Fiat 500 can cost $80 to fill the tank.
Its hard to imagine tiny lil Portugal colonized massive countries like Brazil. Somehow Portugal managed to survive for centuries without getting swallowed up by Spain.
